About the role
The Patient Access Representative serves as the first contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service, compassion, and professionalism in line with organizational standards. They facilitate all aspects of patient entry into the facility, including scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance.
The role requires ensuring accurate data entry into patient records, maintaining knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Facilitate patient scheduling, registration, benefit verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance.
- Ensure accurate data entry into patient records.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under stress while maintaining accuracy.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing.
- Frequent reaching, bending, and other movements.
