This position provides exceptional service to our patients and their families by creating a positive first impression to the Health System. This role greets, interviews, and guides patients and their family members through the registration process for Heritage Valley Health System. They collect and enter all necessary information to ensure accurate hospital records, including patient's demographic and insurance information to facilitate the billing process. They combine ancillary schedules for all patients and assist with the automated check-in process via patient kiosks.

Requirements

  • Customer service-focused, friendly personality with excellent communication skills and a desire to help people.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent and willingness to learn new things.
  • No prior experience necessary, only a strong work ethic and desire to learn alongside the latest technology.
  • Effective communication with patients and their family to gather necessary medical information.
  • Quick problem-solving ability and multitasking skills.
  • Good prioritization and organization skills.

Preferred

  • Healthcare background.
  • Bachelor or associate's degree.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, billing, and health insurance rules/processes.
