This position is available in the 24/7 Patient Registration department within Heritage Valley Health System. It requires flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays across multiple campuses. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to patients and their families, ensuring a positive first impression and facilitating accurate hospital records.
Responsibilities
- Greet, interview, and guide patients and their family members through the registration process.
- Collect and enter all necessary information to ensure accurate hospital records, including demographic and insurance information.
- Combine ancillary schedules for all patients.
- Absorb and assist patients with the automated check-in process via patient kiosks.
Requirements
- Customer service-focused, friendly personality with excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new things, even without prior experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families to gather necessary medical information.
- Quick problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good prioritization and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare background.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, billing, and health insurance rules/processes.
