About the role
This role involves monitoring reception areas, greeting patients, updating chart information, and initiating patient visits.
Responsibilities
- Open office daily and provide an adequate reception area environment for all patients
- Update patient’s demographic and insurance information at each visit
- Communicate and interact effectively with patients and families, physicians, and peers to maximize successful patient outcomes
- Answer telephone calls courteously and direct calls appropriately
- Monitor the Schedule for workflow and patient wait times
- Create new charts and encounters through electronic registration
- Obtain proper patient identification and pictures, including any custody/guarantor documents
- Register each patient to create encounters electronically while obtaining and inputting correct patient information
- Collect co-pays and receive cash and check payments
- Verify Insurance Coverage and Information for each patient
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Check EHR tasks and handle requests and jobs assigned therein efficiently
- Cover the patient check out and scheduling position for breaks, lunch, and other absences
- Provide spiritual care for the patients
- Perform all aspects of the sliding fee process
- Perform encounter audits
