About the role

This role involves monitoring reception areas, greeting patients, updating chart information, and initiating patient visits.

Responsibilities

  • Open office daily and provide an adequate reception area environment for all patients
  • Update patient’s demographic and insurance information at each visit
  • Communicate and interact effectively with patients and families, physicians, and peers to maximize successful patient outcomes
  • Answer telephone calls courteously and direct calls appropriately
  • Monitor the Schedule for workflow and patient wait times
  • Create new charts and encounters through electronic registration
  • Obtain proper patient identification and pictures, including any custody/guarantor documents
  • Register each patient to create encounters electronically while obtaining and inputting correct patient information
  • Collect co-pays and receive cash and check payments
  • Verify Insurance Coverage and Information for each patient
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Check EHR tasks and handle requests and jobs assigned therein efficiently
  • Cover the patient check out and scheduling position for breaks, lunch, and other absences
  • Provide spiritual care for the patients
  • Perform all aspects of the sliding fee process
  • Perform encounter audits
