About the role

The position registers patients accurately, efficiently, and professionally to ensure database integrity and facilitate claims processing. It involves applying financial screening guidelines, utilizing standard procedures, and working collaboratively with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills payor requirements for both in-network and out-of-network insurance plans.
• Verifies benefits and audits charts for accuracy.
• Collects and enters accurate patient demographics, insurance information, and registration-specific codes.
• Ensures insurance information is verified and authorization is obtained if necessary.
• Completes registration types and obtains necessary signatures.
• Scans essential registration forms into the Electronic Medical Record and performs chart follow-up as needed.
• Identifies and records appropriate differences between primary care physician, referring physician, and attending physician.
• Utilizes Insurance Card Database and/or Insurance Verification guidelines.
• Follows Financial Screening and Self-Pay Procedure for Medicaid and Charity Care.
• Attends mandatory department meetings and participates in performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• One year experience in healthcare setting or customer service.
• Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge preferred.
