About the role
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Registration or Scheduling Coordinators. This position involves providing accurate, up-to-date information to both clinical staff and patients, as well as supporting physicians and patients with their requests.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling return appointments and other appointments as assigned.
- Gathering accurate appointment, demographic, and insurance information to support clinical and financial needs, including handling changes to insurance or other patient information.
- Supporting physicians and patients by coordinating their requests.
- Solving routine and complex customer problems and guiding them on addressing specific questions.
- Communicating regularly with clinical staff, medical secretaries, and staff within the product/service line to ensure customer and departmental needs are met.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- PC knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Minimum of six months of experience in customer service or a healthcare environment.
- Experience with Windows, Excel, and Intranet/internet navigation tools, medical terminology, coding, and third-party reimbursement experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple systems for assigned tasks, manage and report on them.
- Strong problem-solving and presentation skills.
- High level of customer service skills.
- Able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a lively environment.
Qualifications
