PATIENT ACCESS MANAGER, PATIENT ACCESS SERVICES
Position Summary
The Manager of Patient Access Services oversees daily operations across multiple access points within SGMC Health. This role provides leadership and operational oversight for key Patient Access functions, including Emergency Department registration, outpatient services, admissions, urgent care, pre-admissions, centralized scheduling, and prior authorizations. The Manager ensures efficient, accurate, and patient-centered processes across all front-end revenue cycle functions, including patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, pre-certification, point-of-service documentation, and data integrity. This position plays a critical role in improving patient access, driving departmental performance, supporting system-wide initiatives, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience in Business Management, Finance or Nursing is preferred.
- Must have progressive related experience in Healthcare operations, management, or other operational leadership.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
- Understanding of operational workflows, performance metrics, and process improvement strategies.
- Knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle functions (registration, scheduling, insurance verification, etc.) or ability to quickly learn and apply.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards preferred.
- Proficiency in computer systems and applications, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Working Conditions
Majority of work is completed primarily indoors, in a healthcare/hospital business environment. Must be able to handle moderate to high levels of stress. Risk of exposure to blood and body fluids possible. Significant standing, sitting, walking, and bending, occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.), and pushing objects required. Work will primarily be weekday, daytime hours, however may be required to assist on holidays, off shifts, and during times of emergency situations.
