About the Role
This position provides assistance in coordinating all functions and activities related to patient access for the Corporation, performed in accordance with NHA philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and training to all front-end customer service staff.
- Ensure accurate patient registration in the electronic registration system.
- Conduct on-site insurance verification and financial counseling.
- Collect accurate Time of Service (TOS) payments.
- Interface with billing departments and healthcare teams.
- Ensure daily staffing for scheduling, registration, and payment collection activities.
- Engage in a quality assurance program to maintain service quality.
- Improve processes by studying, evaluating, and redesigning workflows; implement changes.
- Manage special projects and coordinate with partnerships as required.
- Establish objectives, determine priorities, manage time, and monitor progress.
- Develop and implement new program and project initiatives.
- Enhance the Corporation’s reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring value-add opportunities.
- Attend meetings and committees, collaborating with other leaders to update policies, procedures, and processes.
- Work with the Director of Clinical Services to manage daily staffing needs.
- Generate and monitor UDS, financial, and productivity reports to ensure compliance and propose workflows for process gaps.
- Coordinate language services.
- Manage the outsourced call center partnership and provide training for call center agents.
- Establish partnerships with community organizations to ensure services for underserved populations.
- Submit patient access department reports to the CFO quarterly or as directed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in business preferred but not required.
- Three years of experience in a medical/clinical office.
- Experience with computerized registration systems and supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership and planning skills.
- Task-oriented with strong oral and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
- Discretion, professionalism, and strong attention to detail; ability to multitask effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, customer service skills, and superior telephone etiquette.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing requirements.
- Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to provide guidance, support, and direction to registration staff while organizing and prioritizing work.
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with diverse individuals.

Rare weekend and evening work required.
