Patient Access Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Access Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors, providing excellent customer service while assisting with registration, insurance verification, payment collection, visitor management, and general clerical support.

Responsibilities

• Greet all visitors, patients, and families in a warm friendly manner in person and on the phone
• Provide visitors with visitor stickers and monitor that stickers are worn while visitors are on CSH premises
• Provide general information as requested, and direct visitors appropriately
• Determine the registration and/or financial counseling needs of all patients who arrive for treatment
• Afford patients assistance by staff in a timely fashion to ensure they receive treatment as scheduled
• Request payment at the time of service for copays or other amounts due from the patient according to the hospital’s policy
• Assist staff with other clerical duties, including patient registration and insurance verification as needed
• Log patient visits in the hospital’s information system
• Maintain safety in the lobby
• Schedule ACC appointments and perform scheduling functions, confirm appointments

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of one year of Hospital or Medical experience
• Basic PC Skills
• Must exhibit customer service and interpersonal skills, as well as problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.63 - $25.71 per hour.

Schedule

This is a Full-Time, Day shift position.
