About the role
You will manage front office operations efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival
- Provide information on wait times and address inquiries
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
- Handle walk-in registrations
- Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
- Clock in and out for shift
- Coordinate follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
- Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
- Collaborate with the RCM team to obtain necessary patient information
- Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience
- Experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred
- Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Ability to work with handicapped individuals
- Understanding of Alpha filing system
- Understanding of medical reimbursement and terminology
- Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred qualifications: Good fit for the job as determined by the Talent Sorter assessment
