Patient Access Coordinator

About the role
You will manage front office operations efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting patients with clinic services.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients upon arrival, providing information on wait times and addressing inquiries
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
- Handle walk-in registrations and collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
- Cook up follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
- Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
- Collaborate with the RCM team to obtain necessary patient information
- Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Minimum one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to key 30 words per minute with accuracy
- Understanding of Alpha filing system and medical reimbursement and terminology
- Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and e-mail
- Ability to use all necessary office equipment, facsimile machines, calculator, postage machine, copier, etc.

Pay
