About the role

As a Front Desk/Receptionist, you will manage the front office operations efficiently, ensuring a smooth experience for patients, staff, and referral sources. Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients, verifying and updating patient information, handling financial transactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival
  • Provide information on wait times and address inquiries
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance details during check-in
  • Handle walk-in registrations
  • Collect patient payments, including deductibles, copays, and co-insurance
  • Cook up follow-up appointments, including cast and measure, delivery, and prosthetic care plans
  • Serve as a liaison for clinic services, offering information on patient experience programs, support groups, and other resources
  • Collaborate with the RCM team to obtain necessary patient information
  • Ensure accurate and complete electronic health records for all patients

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of customer service, administrative, or related experience
  • Experience in a receptionist position or medical front office procedures preferred
  • A valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to type at least 30 words per minute with accuracy
  • Understanding of Alpha filing system
  • Knowledge of medical reimbursement and terminology
  • Ability to use a computer, including Windows-based software and email
  • Ability to use necessary office equipment

Qualifications
