Patient Access Associate Representative

Job Summary

Aid and educate patients, providers, medical office staff, and Health system staff regarding accessing services, problem-solving, and answering navigation questions. Maintain an exceptional experience with each contact, via various communication channels. Adhere to procedures and guidelines while upholding Patient Access Services Center performance indicators and Corporate values.

Essential Functions

• Analyze, evaluate, resolve, and respond to service inquiries from members, providers, employer groups, colleagues, agents, and others.
• Promptly provide information and education on benefit clarification, eligibility requirements, verification, authorization, billing, and claim status.
• Identify and resolve or escalate customer concerns or complaints to achieve positive outcomes.
• Place outbound welcome calls to members to educate them on their benefits as needed.
• Assist walk-in members and agents if assigned by leadership.
• Facilitate claims resolution through follow-up on member calls and correspondence received to appropriate departments.
• Effectively track and document all service interactions with customers within appropriate systems according to guidelines.
• Participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant experience
• Prioritizes professional and pleasant interactions
• Preferred: Associate’s degree
