Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely processing
- Maintain knowledge and deployment of practices used within the department/physician practice/hospital to address patient questions or concerns
- Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and overall BHSF Revenue Cycle operations
- Practice the BHSF philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members
Pay
Estimated pay range for this position is $16.28 - $20.68 per hour depending on experience.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent training or experience required
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Detail-oriented, organized, team player with compassion, excellent customer service, and interpersonal communication skills
Qualifications
- Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
- Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications, etc.) and accurate typing skills
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines
- Bilingual (English, Spanish/Creole)
- Minimum required experience: less than 1 year
