Patient Access Associate 2, MNI Office I, $1000 Bonus, FT, 8A-4:30P
About the Role
The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating patient flow, timely processing, maintaining knowledge and deployment of practices used within the department/physician practice/hospital to address patient questions or concerns. They will also maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and overall BHSF Revenue Cycle operations. The role includes assisting in supporting go-lives and departmental initiatives, onboarding and training team members, and participating in departmental committees/champion opportunities. The incumbent will practice the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, Certification, GED, Training, or equivalent experience
- For internal staff:
- Minimum of 1 year Patient Access experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently perform all functions within the Level 1 job description
- Meets/exceeds BHSF registration accuracy and productivity standards for at least the most recent 6 months
- Exceeds departmental KPIs
- Maintains a positive attitude, is self-motivated, and encourages others
- Identified as a team player and cross-trained in multiple areas/product lines/practices to substitute all staff positions as needed
- For external staff:
- Associate Degree preferred with 1 year Patient Access experience, or 2 years experience in lieu of degree
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic mathematical calculations
- Detail-oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines)
- Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations/pre-certifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and EMR applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Bilingual: English, Spanish/Creole preferred

Estimated pay range for this position is $17.27 - $21.93 / hour depending on experience.
