Pathways Director

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the Memory Care (Pathways) department
• Maintenance of Memory Care resident safety and security
• Hiring, training, and scheduling MC caregivers to meet resident needs
• Overseeing, coaching, and training MC caregivers and lifestyle team
• Facilitation of programming to meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
• Planning and organizing daily events, including large and small group activities
• Maintaining regular communication with residents, family members, and associates
• Developing daily, weekly, and monthly calendars, newsletters, family functions, support groups, and community outreach
• Maintaining a proactive and person-centered approach to meeting resident needs, including addressing challenging behaviors
• Coordinating and communicating resident care needs with resident family members and the Executive Director
• Coordinating a volunteer program for the benefit of residents in accordance with company policy
• Documenting community history with photographs and scrapbooks
• Operating program within budget
• Serving as Manager on Duty (“MOD”) as assigned
• Working with other members of the management team to market and manage the community
• Performing all other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Four-year degree with emphasis in gerontological studies or recreation programs (preferred)
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License where necessary and meet company driving standards
• Able to read, write, and speak the English language and communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff members
• Required to work some evenings and weekends for special events
• Ability to possess or acquire a valid driver's license to drive on company time as needed
