Responsibilities

• Explain disease mechanisms across body systems, including cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and immune disorders, as well as inflammation, infection, neoplasia, and genetic disease.
• Teach pathological cellular changes, hemodynamic alterations, and immunological dysfunction to prepare students for clinical nursing, medical school, and advanced healthcare practice.
• Break down disease progression from cellular injury to clinical manifestation.
• Guide students through analyzing patient case studies, interpreting laboratory values, predicting complications of chronic diseases, and understanding pharmacological interventions.
• Emphasize clinical reasoning and systems-based thinking, connecting pathophysiology to evidence-based nursing care, diagnostic medicine, and treatment planning.
• Adapt instruction using clinical case studies, pathology images, and concept mapping to support nursing and pre-medical students.
• Identify and address concepts students commonly struggle with, using multiple teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of pathophysiology and disease mechanisms across body systems.
• Familiarity with pathophysiology curricula and common student challenges, such as understanding immune cascades, distinguishing similar disease presentations, and integrating knowledge across multiple body systems.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
