Pathology Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory and clerical functions
• Assist Pathologist, Histology Technician or Histology Technologist with histology specimen management and histological staining
• Assure proper maintenance of equipment, provision of adequate supplies and cleanliness of the pathology lab (tissue lab) and tissue storage area(s)
• File slides, consults and retrieve slides/blocks as requested by the Pathologist
• Complete established training for the position within designated introductory period
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
• Preferred Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months of pathology or laboratory experience
