About the role

Klemchuk LLP is seeking a mid-level to senior patent attorney (preferably at least 8 years of experience) licensed to practice before the USPTO to join our Patent Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to prepare and prosecute patent applications, engage in patent counseling with extensive direct client and USPTO contact, and potentially involve patent litigation support and PTAB support. Our growth focus is in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science arts, but we are open to considering any candidate that meets our culture and brand standards. Our client base ranges from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies across many technology areas.

What you'll do

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications
  • Provide patent counseling with hands-on direct client and USPTO contact
  • Support patent litigation and PTAB matters, including infringement, invalidity, and claim construction analysis
  • Develop general patent strategy counseling for clients
  • Provide assistance with design arounds and freedom to operate opinions
  • Build patent and legal business through client development, client relationship management, and project management
  • Lead a small team of professionals

What we're looking for

  • Mid-level to senior patent attorney (preferably at least 8 years of experience)
  • Licensed to practice before the USPTO
  • Proven track record of growing client relationships and patent portfolios
  • Technical background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science arts preferred
