Patent Agent

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications
• Conduct searches of scientific literature, patents, and patent applications
• Analyze inventions and compare them with prior art to identify key differentiators
• Evaluate scientific data and provide technical insight
• Draft responses to USPTO and international office actions
• Conduct freedom-to-operate and clearance studies
• Prepare clear and concise explanations of scientific and patent concepts
• Collaborate with inventors, scientists, engineers, and attorneys
• Support global IP strategy and portfolio development
• Participate in team-based review processes and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

• Work onsite approximately 60% of the time

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
• Ability to communicate scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical skills and scientific reasoning
• High attention to detail with strong organizational abilities
• Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Able to collaborate well in team environments

Pay

$120,000 – $220,000 (depending on experience)

Onsite (approx. 60% in-office)
