About the role
The Parent Educator for Parents as Teachers position is located at Child Enrichment Services Office. The job goals include fully implementing the PAT National curriculum and meeting all funding source requirements.
Qualifications
- 21 years or older
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development
- 2 years of work experience with young children

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides families with two monthly home visits using the PAT curriculum and completes Group Connection Planning Guide & Record.
- Presents parent education workshops for monthly Parents as Teachers Group Connections.
- Maintains communication with families before each home visit and as needed.
- Completes all required family and developmental assessments, hearing and vision screenings by the specified deadline.
- Reviews and discusses assessments with families within 14 days and makes referrals within 7 days.
- Maintains and updates current, organized files reflecting each child's level of development within 3 working days of home visits.
- Plans and conducts PAT Advisory Board meetings.
- Sets up and follows the PAT Recruitment Plan to recruit families to enroll in the PAT program.
- Maintains and updates required databases within 3 working days of home visits.
- Monitors and coordinates use of shared space to ensure it is kept neat and organized.
- Lifts 10-30 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Maintains program attendance requirements and maintains a flexible work schedule.
- Submits time off in the Frontline Absence Management and clocks in/out in the Frontline Time and Attendance Systems.
- Is punctual and maintains all areas of professionalism.
- Meets program expectations for professional development and is fiscally responsible.
- Completes yearly self-evaluation and professional development goals.
- Uses good judgment and keeps information confidential.
- Participates in weekly reflective supervision and bi-monthly staff meetings.
- Helps affiliates meet the PAT Essential Requirements and contributes to maintaining the Blue Ribbon Quality Affiliate Status.
- Builds relationships and maintains contact with community resources and refers families as needed.
- Works to build positive relationships with families, co-workers and other district personnel.

Based on Child Enrichment Services Salary Schedule.
Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated based on the Child Enrichment Services Parents as Teachers Personnel Handbook and District Classified Personnel Evaluation.
