Pat Care Tech Float PRN Pl 2- Days

About the role

The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse. May float to all Sarasota Memorial Health Care System (SMHCS) hospital Campuses.

Required Qualifications

• One of the following:
  • Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment;
  • Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to:
    • currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN);
    • have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN;
    • cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN;
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Mandatory Education

• BHS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Licenses and Certifications

• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
