About the role

The Pastry Cook position at Uchi Philadelphia involves preparing desserts for dinner service, including baking, sauce work, and chocolate work. This is a morning to mid-afternoon shift, typically from 7am to 3pm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare desserts for dinner service
• Bake, sauce, and work with chocolate
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
• Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
• Lift, push, or pull objects to reconfigure seating arrangements
• Safely use kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and knives
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace
• Respond to customer needs quickly and efficiently
• Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors
• Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance
