About the role
As a Pastry Cook III at Pendry, you’ll prepare the highest quality food products for the restaurant and banquets according to menu descriptions and hotel standards. You’ll mentor Cook III and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed, and maintain an in-depth knowledge of food products, sanitation standards, and culinary techniques to execute dishes at the highest level. Your role includes regularly restocking kitchen supplies and food items, maintaining cleanliness, fulfilling guest orders with skillful attention to detail, and working collaboratively to deliver on guests’ expectations and create WOW moments. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality pastries and food products for restaurant and banquets according to menu descriptions and hotel standards
- Mentor Cook III and kitchen staff, providing guidance and support
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of food products, sanitation standards, and culinary techniques
- Regularly restock kitchen supplies and food items while maintaining cleanliness of your area
- Fulfill guest orders in a timely manner with attention to detail
- Work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining professionalism
- Create memorable guest experiences and deliver on expectations
- Perform additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the normal scope of responsibilities
Requirements
- One year minimum of cooking experience in a standalone restaurant or hotel
- Luxury hotel experience is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Passion for baking and pastry creation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and exercise mobility for extended periods during scheduled shifts
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and for extended periods
- Ability to push and pull food-serving equipment and carts weighing up to 200 pounds semi-regularly
- Grasping, holding, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, and bending over
- Most tasks are performed indoors in moderate, controlled temperatures, but must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F)

Pay
The pay scale for this position is $23 per hour (base salary wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, or gratuities).
