Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads according to established recipes and standards.
- Decorate and present pastries and desserts in an attractive and visually appealing manner.
- Monitor inventory of pastry ingredients and ensure their availability for daily production.
- Collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef and culinary team to develop and refine recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Adhere to portion control and presentation standards to ensure consistency in taste and appearance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new pastry menu items and seasonal specials.
- Stay updated with current industry trends and techniques in pastry making.
- Assist with the training and supervision of junior pastry staff as needed.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker or in a similar role within a culinary establishment.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads.
- Creativity and attention to detail to create visually appealing and delicious pastries.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- A culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Job Status: Non-Exempt
Pay
$16.90–$22 per hour, plus tips (based on experience).
