Key Responsibilities
- Pastry Preparation
- Follow standardized recipes while paying close attention to presentation and taste.
- Ensure the quality, freshness, and consistency of all pastry items.
- Plating and Presentation
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure that dessert plates are beautifully presented.
- Pay attention to artistic details and adhere to the restaurant's plating standards.
- Ingredient Management
- Maintain an organized and well-stocked pastry station.
- Properly handle, store, and rotate all pastry ingredients to ensure freshness.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure that all pastry items meet the high-quality standards and taste expectations of a Michelin-starred restaurant.
- Continuously seek ways to improve and innovate in the pastry department.
- Sanitation and Safety
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow proper safety procedures in the kitchen.
- Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with other members of the culinary team to coordinate dessert orders with the overall menu.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or patisserie.
- A culinary degree or relevant pastry training is preferred.
- Knowledge of a wide range of pastry techniques and dessert trends.
- A passion for creativity and innovation in pastry.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
