Pastoral Care CPE Chaplain Trainee

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provides direct patient care as requested for emergent and routine requests.
• Affirms spiritual needs/concerns of patients and their families using clinical pastoral conversation.
• Communicates and documents patient interactions and consults frequently with chaplain educator.
• Affords patients, families, and staff with respectful and compassionate relationships.
• Participates in on-call rotation which includes overnight and weekend shifts.
• Provides appropriate religious/spiritual rituals, non-pharmacological interventions to patients, families, and inter-professional team.
• Acts as a liaison with the patient’s faith group/leaders including other community or cultural resources.
• Provides care in diverse acute/non-acute settings including hospital and outpatient areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree: Theology
• At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE, NACC, CASC) or equivalent faith group leadership experience.
• Knowledge of crisis care and counseling skills.
