Event Coordination
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.
Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for.
Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.
Customer Experience
Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
- Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
- Communicate events with clients and store team members.
- Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
- Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
- Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
Customer Service
Help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions.
- Provide fast and friendly check out experience.
- Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
- Educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
- Affix to Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
Operational Tasks
- Complete truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes.
- Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
- Support shrink and safety programs.
Training and Skills
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms.
- Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout the store.
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch.
- Lift heavy boxes and access high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment
- Public retail store setting taking care of our customers; all public areas are climate controlled; some stock rooms may not be climate controlled; some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks.
- Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press.
- Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
