About the role

Yancey Bros. Co., established in 1914, serves as the authorized Caterpillar equipment dealer for Georgia, focusing on high-quality sales, parts, and service to meet evolving customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Courteously and quickly greet all walk-in and call-in customers.
  • Aid customers in a consultative manner to provide the best parts solution for their needs.
  • Gain proficiency in parts knowledge and continue learning with new product introductions.
  • Employ superior listening skills and assess customers' needs.
  • Advise customers on additional related parts, inform them of specials and merchandising programs, and follow up on back ordered items.
  • Create purchase orders for non-Cat back orders and initiate outbound sales calls as directed.
  • Handle and process cash, check, and credit card transactions in compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Be available to work overtime and provide after-hours support.
  • Successfully complete all required training.
  • Review the will-call area weekly, contacting customers on unclaimed items and returning them to inventory as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in the required safety program and work safely.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position, and a desire to learn.
  • A strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.
  • The ability to take direction and work in a team environment.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
  • Quickly picking up on different software and websites used in searching and ordering parts.
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency and organization.
  • Act as a consultant on parts and service, rather than an order taker.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally higher amounts with assistant devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Parts Counter experience in a similar industry.
