Duties And Responsibilities
- Takes calls from external customers, technicians, and works with vendors on over-the-counter parts sales.
- Responds to customer needs with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining inventory, costs, and quality control.
- Fills orders from stock or by special order.
- Orders parts for stock replenishment.
- Advises customers on part substitutions or modifications when replacements are not available.
- Updates customers on the status of backordered parts within an acceptable timeframe.
- Prepares Sales Orders for invoicing, receives payment, and obtains credit authorization when necessary.
- Participates in general inventories and cycle counts as needed.
- Initiates proper documentation to maintain accurate inventory and sales records.
- Works with and supports other Parts Sales Specialists regarding the sale of material handling equipment.
- Assists Parts Sales Representatives with order entry, consignment replenishments, and consignment maintenance.
- Distributes and explains Raymond Corporation Service and Parts Bulletins to other parts staff.
- Assists at back counter and in Stockroom as directed or as needed; presses tires as needed.
- Participates in Parts Department training and meetings.
- Performs various duties directly or indirectly associated with parts sales activity as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
- Willingness to work off-hours as specific needs dictate and willingness to assume more responsibility as required.
- Ability to maintain a consistent state of alertness and safety in performing essential job functions.
- Possession of a general understanding of, and familiarity with, machine parts and their functions.
- Able to communicate effectively with employees, manufacturers, and vendors at all levels, in person, on the telephone, or via electronic media.
- Willingness to learn new computer programs, inventory procedures, parts manuals, and price books.
- Able to manage time effectively.
- Mastery of interpreting parts manuals and computer programs.
- Desire to continuously develop and train oneself.
- Willingness to comply with the employee handbook.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Position is non-sedentary.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The position will require employees to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to smell.
- The position requires the employee to climb/balance/stoop/kneel/crouch and crawl.
- The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
Pay Range
The hourly range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00. The specific pay offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
