Parts Specialist

About the role

This position is responsible for supporting our internal and external customers by processing part orders, creating purchase orders for technicians in the field and sourcing parts through different vendors to exceed customer expectations. The Parts Specialist will build long-lasting relationships with customers by exploring their needs and expectations, providing specific measurable goals, and achieving results within a customer's expected timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Support the technicians by processing parts orders in a timely manner
• Answer parts telephone calls and wait on walk-in customers promptly and courteously
• Aid customers by researching parts from the manufacturer's parts manuals
• Prepare parts quotes; once approved, enter orders in the computer
• Operate in a professional and courteous manner to exceed customer expectations both in presentation and communication
• Promote ProLift Toyota Material Handling's philosophies, vision, strategies and value of "Doing the Right Thing"
• Promote the TLM "Toyota Lean Management" philosophy

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of experience in a parts department and working with/sourcing parts
• Basic technical knowledge of automotive or forklift components
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook and Office 365
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to associates, customers, and managers, while protecting the organization's values by maintaining confidential and sensitive information

Qualifications

• Driver's license and a motor vehicle registry check may be required

Skills

The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of Microsoft products including Outlook and Office 365. The Parts Specialist will also have basic technical knowledge of automotive or forklift components and excellent verbal and written communication skills to associates, customers, and managers, while protecting the organization's values by maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
