Parts Specialist

Compensation

Pay Range: $16.90 – $24.90 per hour (actual rate will equal or exceed the applicable minimum wage). Additional compensation may include performance, quarterly, or premium pay in amounts ranging per hour under specific circumstances (e.g., schedule, facility, season, or type of work). Multiple premiums may apply when criteria are met.

About the role

The Parts Specialist delivers high-level service to retail and installer customers and supports store management in completing assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote company customer service programs (Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.)
• Greet retail/walk-in customers promptly in a friendly, courteous manner and assist with merchandise selection
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as directed
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position
• Answer incoming calls per company policy, look up parts, quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer; accept cash, checks, make change, and process credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns courteously and in accordance with company policies
• Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Complete daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning
• Perform daily operational tasks such as preparing new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center, assisting with monthly stock adjustments, and inventory cycle counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after completing required training and meeting company requirements
• Provide in-store services where state and local laws allow (e.g., install wipers, test and charge batteries, test charging systems, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate (must meet company driving eligibility requirements)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service skills
• Ability to multitask while handling phone and in-store customers simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• ASE certification
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
