About the role
The Parts Specialist will provide all retail and installer customers with a high level of service and support store management in the accomplishment of assigned tasks. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote all company customer service programs (e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot).
- Greet retail/walk-in customers promptly and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Support managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Answer customer calls according to company policy, look up parts, quote prices, recommend premium items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash/check/credit card transactions, and make accurate change.
- Process exchanges and returns in accordance with company policies.
- Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image maker tasks, planogram updates, freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
- Prepare merchandise returns (new, core, warranty) for shipment to the distribution center.
- Assist with monthly stock adjustments, inventory cycle counts, and other operational tasks.
- Operate store equipment (e.g., brake lathe) after completing required training.
- Perform in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test/charge batteries, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules) where permitted by law.
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle (must meet company driving eligibility requirements).
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in-store simultaneously.
Qualifications
Desired qualifications include:
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system, or automotive sales/service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
