About the role
This position supports store management in completing assigned tasks while providing all retail and installer customers with a high level of service. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Follow and promote all company customer service programs (e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot).
- Greet retail/walk-in customers promptly in a friendly, courteous manner and assist with merchandise selection.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed and directed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Answer store phone calls according to company policy, look up parts, quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash and/or checks, make accurate change, and process credit card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns for credit in a friendly manner per company policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, cleaning, etc.
- Perform daily operational tasks such as preparing new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center, assisting with monthly stock adjustments, and conducting inventory cycle counts.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after completing required training and meeting company requirements.
- Perform in-store services for customers where state and local laws allow (e.g., install wipers, test and charge batteries, test charging systems, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules).
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate (driving record must meet company-mandated eligibility requirements).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Ability to provide outstanding, friendly, and professional customer service.
- Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
