Responsibilities
- Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs.
- Supplies Service Technicians with parts as required.
- Affixes merchandise displays.
- Verifies receipting-in or shipments and assists with placing Machine Down and Stock Orders in their proper inventory locations.
- Affixes the parts department clean and orderly.
- Follows up on shortages and expedites issues by reporting to the manager.
- Affixes in assisting with maintaining all department tools, equipment and vehicles in good working order.
- Routinely lifts items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Be able to work with a team or independently.
- Maintain a professional demeanor to ensure that the highest level of customer experience is attained.
- On occasion when deemed necessary deliver parts to customers utilizing company vehicles.
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while assisting customers at the parts counter and in the warehouse.
- Frequently required to use hands and arms to handle, pick, and stock parts, including small components and larger equipment items.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move parts weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead to access parts stored on shelves, racks, or bins frequently.
- Occasionally utilizing stationary ladders or mobile / rolling ladders as needed.
- Must be able to work in both climate-controlled office areas and non-climate-controlled warehouse/shop environments with varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
- Good visual acuity to read parts catalogs, computer screens, and small or detailed part numbers accurately.
- Ability to operate a computer, phone system, and dealership inventory/parts management software for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts.
- Ability to load and unload parts from delivery vehicles and assist with shipping/receiving tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in parts department operations preferred, preferably within an equipment or dealership environment.
- Experience utilizing electronic parts catalogs and inventory management systems preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to effectively assist both internal and external customers.
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate dealership software, email, and standard office applications.
- Ability to learn and retain product knowledge, including parts identification and application.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate order processing and inventory control.
Skills and Knowledge
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Valid driver’s license required.
