Parts Driver

About the role

The ideal candidate is reliable, self-starting, able to multi-task, and has delivery driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of grooming, shaven, and uniform appearance
• Provide courteous and efficient service to all parts customers
• Drive in a safe and courteous manner
• Utilize dispatch software for all deliveries
• Write up all returns for credits daily
• Receive cores and warranty parts for credits daily
• Assist in housekeeping of parts department daily
• Inspect shipments for damage and quantity daily
• Perform other duties and tasks as directed by management
• Ensure all invoices are signed and/or payment is received before parts are given to customers
• Inform management of any customer complaints daily
• Tie down and secure any loose freight before starting deliveries
• Check all invoices against supplied manifests to verify parts for current route
• Mark all parts with ID tags if necessary
• Deliver all receipts, cash, checks, and credits to dispatcher at the end of every run
• Report to the dispatcher at the beginning and end of every run for route assignment
• Place truck keys in the key box at the end of the day
• Obtain and return gas cards with receipts on the same day
• Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors
• Check with the dispatch clerk before leaving for last-minute pick-ups or deliveries
• Unload truck each night and turn in all paperwork to the dispatch clerk
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck, including fueling, checking oil, cleaning, and ensuring inspections are up to date
• Advises dispatch clerk if delivery truck needs repairs or maintenance

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License and Chauffeur’s License required
• Ability to obtain Medical Examiner’s Certification within 30 days of hire

Essential Duties

• Regularly required to: Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear
• Occasionally required to: Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds
• Regularly exposed to: Toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions
• Occasionally exposed to: Wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and explosives
• Work Environment: Noise level is usually moderate
