Parts Driver

About the role

The Parts Driver has front-line responsibility for customer interaction related to safe and efficient delivery of parts to customers and pick-up from vendors.

Responsibilities

• Load parts delivery vehicles
• Check each load to ensure 100% complete and accurate order fulfillment
• Perform safety checks of delivery vehicles
• Obey all traffic laws and drive defensively
• Professionally represent Peterbilt of Atlanta at customer locations in appearance, attitude, and communication
• Accurate record keeping through signatures on delivery paperwork, returned goods paperwork (RGM's), etc.
• Collect COD checks and credit card payments, with phone-in verification

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Peterbilt of Atlanta's criteria
• Commercial Driver Medical Certification is required
• Ability to use a computer and calculator
• Training will be provided on the parts department's computer inventory system
• Ability to drive and operate a forklift safely
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts
• Professional personal appearance and dress
• Possession of a personal smartphone capable of downloading, installing, and reliably operating company-issued mobile applications (mandatory for safety inspections, coaching materials, driving performance monitoring, notifications, and payroll/attendance processes)

Working Conditions

• Physically demanding position
• Drive a company-provided vehicle six to eight hours per shift (traffic conditions may extend hours)
• Lift and transport up to 70 pounds several times a day
• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• May operate a forklift
