About the role

The Parts Driver has front-line responsibility for customer interaction related to safe and efficient delivery of parts to our customers and pick-up from vendors. This includes:

  • Loading parts delivery vehicles
  • Checking each load to ensure 100% complete and accurate order fulfillment
  • Safety checks of delivery vehicles
  • Obeying all traffic laws and driving defensively
  • Professionally representing Pearson Peterbilt Group at customer locations in appearance, attitude, and communication
  • Accurate record keeping through signatures on delivery paperwork, returned goods paperwork (RGM's), etc.
  • Collection of COD checks and credit card payments, with phone-in verification

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
  • Possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets Pearson Peterbilt Group's criteria
  • Commercial Driver Medical Certification is required
  • Ability to use computer and calculator
  • Will be trained on parts department's computer inventory system
  • Ability to drive and operate a fork-lift safely
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts
  • Professional personal appearance and dress
  • Mandatory smartphone capability: possession of a personal smartphone capable of downloading, installing, and reliably operating company-issued mobile applications for safety inspections, coaching materials, driving performance monitoring, notifications, and payroll/attendance processes

Working Conditions

The Parts Driver role is a physically demanding position.

  • Will drive a company-provided vehicle six to eight hours per shift (traffic conditions may result in extended hours on occasion)
  • Will lift and transport up to 70 pounds several times a day
  • Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • May operate a fork lift
