Responsibilities
- Deliver parts to customers and company locations within an assigned territory in a safe and timely manner.
- Follow established delivery routes and schedules as directed by the Parts Manager.
- Load, organize, and secure parts to ensure safe transportation and prevent damage during transit.
- Safely operate a company delivery vehicle while complying with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Frequently enter and exit the delivery vehicle throughout the workday.
- Lift, carry, load, and unload parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Communicate with the Parts Department regarding delivery schedules, route changes, and customer updates.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including obtaining required signatures and documentation.
- Track and report mileage, travel time, and other required delivery information.
- Perform routine inspections of the assigned delivery vehicle and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Provide professional, courteous, and responsive customer service during all customer interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional appearance of the delivery vehicle.
- Afford assistance with warehouse, shipping, receiving, stocking, or other Parts Department duties when deliveries are complete or as business needs require.
- Demonstrate reliability, dependability, and effective communication skills.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating a delivery vehicle or performing commercial deliveries preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to meet the company's driver qualification standards.
- DOT Medical Card and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are not required for this position.
- Knowledge of local roads and the ability to efficiently navigate an assigned delivery territory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deliveries and manage time effectively.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer and mobile device skills for delivery documentation and communication.
- Ability to read maps, GPS directions, delivery manifests, and shipping documentation.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb in and out of a delivery vehicle.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, and operate equipment, tools, and delivery documentation.
- Frequently load and unload parts from delivery vehicles.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Operate a motor vehicle for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Possess sufficient vision and hearing to safely operate a vehicle and perform delivery responsibilities.
