Parts Counter

About the role

As Parts Counter, you’re one of the most important team members at Norm Reeves Hyundai/Genesis in Irving. You’re responsible for assisting guests primarily through the shop, and even on the phone or online. You’ll provide an exceptional guest experience by pulling and filling orders, organizing inventory, keeping current on new products and product updates, and communicating with our internal team, external vendors, and guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner. Your work will ensure guests leave 100% satisfied with their Norm Reeves Hyundai/Genesis experience.

Responsibilities

• Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring the customer is exposed to the full product line
• Notify Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency order if necessary
• Notify Service Advisor when special order parts are received
• Follow-up on back-ordered parts
• On a weekly basis, verify will-call and back-order files as well as vendor returns, and stock items not picked up
• Aid outside sales representatives with their orders
• Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders
• Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special order parts
• Aid Parts Manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program

Requirements

• Previous parts sales experience required
• At least 1 year of dealership experience preferred
• Full-time availability
• You’ll also need to be at least 18 years old
• A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Excellent follow up skills, frequently communicating inventory and availability of parts
• A professional appearance and work ethic
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

This role is a great entry point to Norm Reeves for a car enthusiast who thrives on finding solutions to problems and has some prior experience in the automotive industry and knowledge of parts sales.
