Parts Clerk

About the role

The Parts Clerk supports maintenance and production operations through hands-on management of parts and equipment, from sourcing and purchasing to receipt, organization, and distribution. This role is critical in minimizing downtime by ensuring essential tools, equipment, and parts are readily available while maintaining accurate inventory records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control the inventory program, including receiving, storing, and distributing parts.
• Monitor stock levels to ensure critical spares are available for manufacturing operations.
• Assist in purchasing a variety of parts and supplies, sourcing necessary equipment cost-effectively.
• Manage the receipt of all parts, verifying items, paperwork, and order specifications.
• Maintain accurate records by charging parts to the proper accounts using the CMMS and ensuring up-to-date data entry.
• Keep the parts room and maintenance area orderly and safe.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to optimize processes and meet operational needs.
• Monitor and document the waste treatment system, communicating issues to site leadership and the safety team.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in purchasing, inventory control, and vendor coordination (manufacturing or municipal environment preferred).
• Proficiency in CMMS and administrative software.
• Ability to interpret equipment design to optimize costs and train personnel.
• Strong math skills (measurements, volume, rates) and ability to read/write technical manuals and safety reports.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DEQ, and EEO regulations.
• Ability to lift 50–100 lbs and perform physically active tasks (standing, crawling, kneeling) in a loud, industrial environment.
