Job Title: Service Technician/Mechanic Job Type: Full-Time Department: Shop Reports to: President/Service Manager Job Purpose: To assemble, repair and/or maintain agricultural and lawn and garden equipment as required and to assist other shop personnel as needed. Major Duties And Responsibilities Perform quality work as assigned by service manager in a professional and timely manner.Perform small & large engine maintenance, welding, fabricating, hydraulic repair, and mechanical work as required by the service order or contract.Repair sprayers, planters, irrigation reels, trucks, mowers, and pumps as needed.Assemble new equipment and set-up for sale or display.Communicate with supervisor regarding issues with equipment, as well as answer service-related questions from customers in a courteous and professional manner.Complete all required paperwork, work orders and time tickets in an accurate and timely fashion.Assist coworkers when required.Keep updated on job knowledge by participating in schools and other educational opportunities.Maintain all company tools and equipment.Exhibit personal and professional integrity at all times.Create and maintain safe working environment at all times. Experience, Education, Skills & Knowledge Previous experience with small engine maintenance requiredBriggs & Stratton certified mechanic preferred but not requiredBasic electrical knowledge in AC & DC circuits and ability to use a voltmeterAbility to lift 50 poundsBasic computer skillsAbility to work overtime when necessaryMust have a valid driver’s license and own form of transportation Job Skills and Qualifications: Reliable, Equipment Maintenance, Decision Making, Problem Solving, Trouble Shooting, Reporting, Physical strength and agility, Ability to read and interpret instructions, Work Independently, Self-Motivated, Exhibit Good Judgment, Provide your own hand tools Benefits: Health insurance reimbursement, paid vacation, holidays & 401(k) match and profit sharing.
