Responsibilities
- Oversight of the parts sales process from start to finish.
- Communication with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Effective conversation regarding customer parts status.
- Reading and understanding the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
- Answering phone calls, providing price quotes, and other information to customers.
- Reviewing body shop estimates to verify parts ordered and pricing alignment.
- Providing high-level service to both internal and external customers.
- Pulling/filling orders from stock and maintaining weekly bin checks for accuracy.
- Notifying parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
- Locating out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submitting emergency orders if necessary.
- Making sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
- Receiving payment from retail customers or obtaining credit authorization.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior auto parts sales experience (preferred).
- Eagerness to improve in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
- Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
- Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
