About the role
The Parts and Inventory Specialist will manage and oversee the parts inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment. They will coordinate with suppliers to order parts and negotiate pricing, maintain an organized and efficient parts department, provide exceptional customer service, monitor and analyze sales trends, train and supervise staff, and implement and maintain safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the parts inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
- Cook up with suppliers to order parts and negotiate pricing.
- Maintain an organized and efficient parts department, including proper storage and labeling of parts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting technicians and mechanics in identifying and sourcing the correct parts.
- Monitor and analyze sales trends to optimize inventory management and reduce excess stock.
- Train and supervise parts department staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain safety protocols within the parts department.
Requirements
- Prior work in a diesel or auto service department is a plus.
- Knowledge of Automotive and/or diesel truck parts is a plus.
- Knowledge of Dossier and Trux Systems is a plus.
Skills
- Proven experience in parts management, preferably in the automotive or diesel industry.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
