Parts Advisor
Overview
The Parts Advisor sells retail and wholesale automotive parts and accessories, orders and maintains inventory for the service department, wholesale customers, and retail customers. Responsibilities include receiving and stocking part shipments, answering phones, filling repair orders, ordering parts from vendors, communicating with service technicians, maintaining the parts department's cleanliness, delivering packages, and soliciting new accounts.
Responsibilities
- Receive and stock in part shipments from all vendors.
- Lookup and sell parts and merchandise at the front and back counters as necessary.
- Answer phones as necessary to fulfill potential customer needs.
- Fill repair order requirements for the Service Technicians.
- Order parts from any and all vendors as necessary to fulfill requirements of Service Technicians, Wholesale Customers and Counter Sales Customers.
- Communicate with service regarding pertinent part order criteria for the customers.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the parts department.
- Deliver incoming packages to proper personnel throughout the Dealership.
- Solicit assigned accounts by phone and market for new accounts.
- Perform various tasks assigned by the Parts Manager.
Requirements
Must be able to comprehend verbal and written instructions. Strong PC skills, including operating a cash register, computer, and paper cataloging systems, and processing daily paperwork and forms. Ability to learn how to operate company office machines (copier, fax, etc.). Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers. Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude and present professional conduct and appearance at all times. Ability to learn company computer inventory systems. Help maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the parts department. Assist with parts deliveries in the absence of the parts driver or when necessary.

Qualifications
Prior dealership experience preferred.
