Part Time Wound Nurse Practitioner

About the role

CareMed Health Solutions is a facility-based team of medical providers who deliver medical services to patients living in long-term care facilities. We are seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to residents in skilled nursing facilities, positively impacting the lives and wellbeing of the elderly population.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Arkansas law.
• Order, review, and/or follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate regularly and as needed with nursing home staff to discuss changes in patient condition and/or the care plan.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background in wound care, including but not limited to chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Comfort staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
• Familiarity with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products (e.g., collagens, alginates, foams, silvers).
• Experience with wound vacs and other durable medical equipment, such as pressure-relieving/reducing devices.
• Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
