Part Time Warehouse Material Handler

About the role

The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for fulfilling customer orders by retrieving and stacking specific products and quantities as specified on pick tickets or computer screens. This involves traveling throughout the warehouse's pick area to build stable pallets of product while meeting or exceeding safety, accuracy, and efficiency expectations.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and place quantities of cases of product onto a pre-determined pallet as instructed by the assigned pick ticket, ensuring safe and stable pallet construction while meeting warehouse and company expectations for safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Transport pallets of stacked product to different warehouse areas using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) – Pallet Jack – safely and efficiently.
• Assist in warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping as assigned or needed.
• Perform daily PIT checklist and report any issues to warehouse management.
• Correct any mistakes in product or quantity as identified by the checker.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient warehouse operations in a dynamic environment.
• Perform miscellaneous activities to support warehouse operations.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
• Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.
• Ability to adapt to different work areas throughout the workday and meet minimum expectations.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen.
• Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages.
• Ability to work in a noisy and non-climate-controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter).
• Intentional self-starter who takes initiative and proactively seeks value-add opportunities.
• Flexibility with schedules and hours as business demands change.

Qualifications

• Up to 12 months of work experience.
• PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack (required).
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).

Pay

$17.00 - $18.00 hourly, depending on experience.

Schedule

1st shift, 7:30 AM start time, Monday - Friday.

Work Environment

Noisy and non-temperature-controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter).
