Part-Time Veterinary Technician

About the role

Hilton Head Veterinary Clinic is seeking a part-time Veterinary Technician to support additional doctor days. The clinic offers competitive compensation ranging from $19 to $25 per hour, flexible scheduling (2/10-hour shifts Monday through Saturday), and a welcoming environment for both patients and clients.

Responsibilities

• Treatment of patients in a hospital setting
• Nursing care and animal handling
• Dental procedures including scaling, polishing, and radiology
• IV catheter placement, blood draws, and general treatment room tasks
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
• Laboratory skills such as using in-house laboratory machines and a microscope
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis

Requirements

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant
• AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology degree preferred but not required
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with cats, dogs, and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Understanding of the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Pay

$19 – $25 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.

Schedule

2/10-hour shifts. Monday – Saturday. Closed on Sunday and major holidays.
