Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

About the role

Cary Grove Animal Hospital in Cary, IL has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join their team as a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant. They are a 4 doctor veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to their animal patients and exceptional service to their owners.

Responsibilities

• Running appointments and obtaining accurate patient histories
• Client education on vaccines, preventatives, and wellness care
• Reviewing treatment plans and estimates
• Discharging patients and reviewing medications
• Follow-up calls and client communication
• Venipuncture and sample collection
• Administering SQ injections and fluids
• Radiograph positioning
• Lab sample preparation (fecal, urine, cytology)
• Cleaning and maintaining hospital areas

Requirements

• At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience in a veterinary hospital
• A strong communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with animal restraint and handling
• Basic knowledge of vaccines and common medications
• A dependable and adaptable team player who brings energy and positivity to work
• Experience with EMR/veterinary software
• Knowledge of common diseases and treatment

Pay

$18.00 - $23.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule
