Part-Time Veterinary Assistant

About the role

The hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to assist veterinarians in providing patient care and client service.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary.
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies.
• Sterilize tools and ensure equipment is in working order.
• Communicate with clients and update patient files.

• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a hands-on environment.
• Energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills.
• Compassionate/caring.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Can work individually, as well as on a team.
• Self-starter personality that can complete daily tasks without the need for constant direction.

Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise

• Prior customer service experience.
• Able to lift 40 lbs.
